June proper kicked off on Friday 1st with the release of the report by the Prime Minister’s emissions trading task force.

The report recommended that a “cap and trade” scheme should be designed and in place by 2011, with trading to begin in 2012. No actually numbers were suggested, or what initial price should be put on carbon.

Any such scheme, however, might be expected to benefit geothermal energy developments.
