| Torrens Energy announced on Thursday 9th that it has signed a contract with Underdale Drillers Pty Ltd to commence drilling TEY’s exploration areas in October. The drilling activity will form the first stage of TEY’s heat flow exploration programme targeting “hot rocks in the heart of infrastructure”. |

| The Federal Government has released its White Paper on an emissions trading scheme for Australia. The geothermal sector was hoping for an ambitious target in excess of 15% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2020. What we got was a disappointing 5% to a maximum 15%. There is little in the white paper to stimulate the geothermal sector, although a raft of other support measures are being implemented. |
