As of Monday 27th, Habanero 3 had been successfully cased to 585 m and drilling was about to recommence.

On the same day, new Managing Director Gerry Grove-White took over the reins at Geodynamics Limited.

There was a flurry of stories in the media following the release of Prof Ross Garnaut’s report on the economic impact of carbon dioxide emission controls. The report recommended that Australia aim for emissions cuts of between 5 and 25% by 2020, and Garnaut explicitly said that geothermal energy could play a key role in achieving those cuts.
