The inaugural AGEG/AGEA Australian Geothermal Energy Conference (AGEC) was held at Rydges Hotel in Melbourne from 19th–22nd. Over 300 people attended this landmark event.

The conference was addressed by two Energy Ministers (Australian and Victorian), senior government officials, and invited international Keynote technical experts Jeff Tester, Subir Sanyal, Roy Baria and Hiro Asanuma. Sixty-five presentations were delivered in all over the three-day program, and each talk was well attended.
