Petratherm Ltd had news. PTR and its Paralana JV partners have secured a drilling rig for Paralana 2 and Paralana 3, the wells required to complete the first module of PTR’s ‘HEWI’ concept. This satisfies the major condition for the recently announced TRUenergy farming deal. The ‘lightning’ rig, to be provided by Weatherford Drilling International, is being built in Dubai and should be ready to drill P2 in February 2009, and P3 early in 2010.

The good news for the wider industry is the rig will be available for other geothermal companies when PTR is not using it.
