The Australian Financial Review provided the industry with some positive media coverage. An article on Friday 5th January (“Geothermal Energy Clean, Green and in Vogue” by Gavin Evans and Mathew Carr) concluded that “with the increasing cost of oil, gas and coal, geothermal has become a very economical option.” 

Another article on the following day (“An Energy Lesson for Australia” by Brian Toohey) concluded that “the use of hot dry rocks means an Australian geothermal industry will be the only source of zero-emission, renewable power available 24/7.” (Did he mean Hot Dry Rocks Pty Ltd? )
