Energy Supply Association of Australia releases report PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 30 January 2007
To finish the month, a report released by The Energy Supply Association of Australia on Wednesday 31st January found (amongst other things) that “generation from geothermal and ultra super-critical black coal plants [must increase] significantly” before 2030 under all emission reduction scenarios for Australia’s stationary power sector.

In particular, geothermal will need to contribute 6.8% of Australia’s stationary power requirements by 2030 to achieve emission reductions of 70% from 2000 levels (the study’s most ambitious scenario). The report, including the conclusion about geothermal, was literally front page news in The Australian newspaper.
