Panax Geothermal have announced that drilling of Salamander 1 near Penola in South Australia has begun on the evening of Sunday 31st, meeting their stated target of “late January.”

Great news out of Paralana 2 on Wednesday Nov 4th 2009 Petratherm Ltd and JV partners Beach Petroleum and TRUenergy Geothermal announced that the “well encountered indications of permeable zones and the presence of geothermal fluids flowing into the well” at depths between 3690–3864 m. This bodes well for PTR’s plans to engineer a reservoir within the sedimentary sequence. Paralana 2 was at 3864 m and drilling ahead.
