Geothermal Resources Limited held their AGM. Their Chairman, Bob Johnson, announced that they are cashed up and planning their first eight shallow exploratory wells to be drilled early in the New Year.

Sunday Dec 13th (lucky for some) 2009 was the day Federal Energy Minister Martin Ferguson chose to reveal the ‘winners’ of Round 2 of the Geothermal Drilling Program. Gold medals (and $7 million cheques) went to Hot Rock Ltd (Koroit project, Victoria),Geodynamics Ltd (Hunter Valley project, New South Wales), GRE Geothermal Ltd (ie Green Rock Energy and University of Western Australia—Perth metro area, Western Australia), Greenearth Energy Ltd (Anglesea, Victoria), and Torrens Energy Ltd (Parachilna, South Australia).
